Wowhead tooltips extension updated

I just finished an update on my extension “Wowhead tooltips”. The big change is how the item bbcode is used. [item] can be used like the following:

  • [item]###[/item]
  • [item]Item Name[/item]
  • [item=###]item name[/item]

The first two are preparsed into the third one. So if all you know is either the id number or the name, just use [item].

There is also new bbcodes for Spells, Quests and Achievements, but they don’t have a preparser so you cant use them like you can with the [item] tag (the first two from the list above).

p.s. if the item tag does not preparse, it means either that you spelled the name wrong, or the id is wrong

Wowhead also added the ability to add enchants, gems and set bonus’. To add those just add the following to the item code:

  • ‘ench=##’ for enchants
  • ‘gems=##:##’ for gems
  • ‘pcs=##:##’ for other set pieces

The item code would then look like this [item=## ench=## gems=##:##]Item Name[/item]

(Where # is the id number of enchant, gem, or other piece)

Base 64 img

Base64img is a script that is pretty simple and very useful for any programmer who is looking for a way to store their images in their script. What it does is it uses the php function “base64_encode” and to encode your image in to an array of data. The data is, of course the encoded image its self, the file size of the image, and image type (jpg, png, gif).

The script i stared with was created by php.holtsmark.no witch he created for his script witch is ALL one file. I improved on the script and the data it sent back by allowing multiple file uploads. I also added a jquery enhanced front end to make uploading the files really easy.

Im Gettings Sick Of This

This is gonna be a rant, so if you don’t wanna listen to it then you can turn away… Still here? ok.

There are a few things that are making me sick. just plain old pissing me off. Also his list is in no specific order or anything like that.

First, I’m getting sick that Fluxbb hasn’t had a real update in a couple weeks. Paul started the commits and still haven’t gotten around to finishing them. For the likes of me i don’t know why? There has been no info about why he’s not finished. Did he go on vacation for the holidays? Did he die? (knock on wood) And if so do the other developers not know, or do they just not wanna tell us. Its just making me sick that there’s no updates for the fluxbb source.

Next on the list is my ability to play world of warcraft, and my addiction to it. I love the game so much and the friends iv made. I try to keep in contact with them though emails and Vent, but i cant stand to be in vent. Its almost torture. Listening to them play, talk about what they’re doing and what not, and not being able to play or barely experience it. All i get is a screenshot, or video about it. Its just making me sick not being able to play this game that i love.

The last thing on this list is really really personal (Family) so beware.

I think the last thing for this list that makes me sick, is my Sister. Yes my sister. And her daughter. I must say i love my niece, but im getting sick of watching her. And my mother and i probably watches her more then her mother does. And what else is when she need us to watch her daughter because she wants to go to bed (she works the graveyard 8pm to 7am) she just goes to bed, because we happen to be in the living room with her. Never asks (very rarely at the least) and NEVER i mean NEVER says thank you. Id like for her to pay me and mom or at the least give us the child support, and not spend it on stuff, that is rarely for her.

Those are a few things that piss me off. Lets just hope that, Fluxbb starts up regular development, i get a computer that is capable to run wow, and my sister becomes nicer (or moves out).

Warm and Fuzzy

Why does this make me feel warm and fuzzy in side? I really don’t know why. Its not that big of a deal. Its not like the code would not work with out it. I guess i just like seeing some one thank me. Maybe, i don’t know.

Oh right, i bet you dont know what the hell im talking about. ok Go here.

Did you go there and read the changelog? Now do you see why im confused why i feel so warm and fuzzy?

I made this suggestion on his post What features do you want to see?

Oh yea and hes also gonna add a new feature (is it really a feature?) in the next version. What i suggested was a way to not grab info from other pages and just the basic character info. Because in my WoW_Roster extension i dont need that other stuff (well not yet anways).

Holiday Theme Update

As you can tell iv got a new style for my site. I really like it. Its not gonna stay up for ever, just for a while, during this time of year.

You know how long it took me to make this? About 2 hours to make those two images. Found a tutorial to make colored lights and did it at a 500×500 px. then i copied the image, shrunk down to what it is not. Then i went about to copy and paste (with a color tweak to get the different colors) every single bulb in to a random placement. I than drew in the cord to make it look even better.

Its not perfect, Iv noticed some spots where stuff does over lap correctly but its kool none the less.

Oh and that winter scene in the header was my backyard back in 1995, was a big winter. Almost a foot of snow. I really hope to see a winter like that again. For thoes of you who want to see the full image Click Here.
