Stupid Twitter

OK so several months ago, when i had just heard about twitter, i thought id go ahead and sign up. While doing so started to think that if people wanted to know whats going on in my life they can just read my blog. I didn’t feel like it would be that useful, and would just be another site id have to keep updated and stuff so i decided to delete it.

Well now i feel like i wanna try it out, and this time keep the account. Well seems that when you delete an account on twitter, it isn’t actually deleted. The email and username is still held so no one can sign up with em. The main problem is that i cant restore my account. So im pretty much shit out of luck unless i use a different email and username. I’v done the automatic account restoration but i think my acount was deleted before 12/1/08 so it needs to be restored “manualy”.

So now im thinking, is it really worth it to even use twitter in the first place. Will i even get followers? I mean come on i only have what 8 comments on my blog. Two of witch are mine. I could post more short “twitter like” posts here, or even make a “twitter” category or something. I dont know.

My New Computer

OK,  so if you haven’t read the past few posts, iv been having issues with buying a new computer. I purchased one from newegg, got it, it didn’t work, sent it back for a replacement, and they didn’t have one to send to they refunded me the money (minus the shipping cost). And now its 4 days short of being a month since i made that purchase.

So now I’m doing my business though iBuyPower.com. They do custom built computers. I choose from a list of what i want and they put it together, make sure everything works, and ship it out. So i wont get it in as fast as if i had purchased a pre-built comp from newegg or something.

I made my purchase on Friday, just after they closed for the weekend (stupid business hours). So now i have to wait until Monday before any work has begin on it. Hopefully if I’m lucky they will ship out Thursday or Friday. It only cost me (ok my mom) $656 before a instant $25 savings with the “Boss out of town supper sale” they were having. $25 because my purchase was under $999. The actual purchase is $631. Also there is Free Shipping :D

Even after the purchase iv gone over the list over and over again. Checking on stuff, doing my research that i should have done before i made the purchase (i know).  I first started freaking out about the windows version i got. Not the fact that it was Vista Home Basic but whether it was 64bit or 32bit. And i had chosen 64bit. After my research i found out that 64bit is OK. But i still worry that tings work work correctly. Another thing that got me worried is i forgot to put “Rd NW” in the billing/shipping address. Iv send them an email and hopefully that is sorted out.

But the main thing I’m really worried about is the fact that i didn’t upgrade the PSU to a 650W or even a 600W. Its still the standard 420W that comes with the case. But hopefully while they are building it and testing, or at least looking at the list, will notice that i need a bigger PSU. The thing is that i spend the MAX of what we can. So i don’t know what I’m gonna do if that is an issue. I might take some money out of my savings to put on the card.

New Computer Refunded

OK what did i say with my last update for my computer? I said that it was broke and i had to return it. Right? Well there has been several happenings since then.

After i packed everything back up in their box, i contacted Newegg and setup a return.  It going pretty good at this point, i print out the number and its bar code, and tape it to the box. The email said that i should wait 2/4 hours for the UPS shipping label to be created and emailed to me, and i should print it out and tape it to the box. So i go about my business of waiting for that email, and having nothing else to do.  

Just so the page wont be freaking huge the rest will be after the break.

Moved Servers

Well this morning i got an email from my friend saying that he cant give away free hosting anymore. It wasn’t anything personal, it just that the company that gave him the space is shutting down. Going out of business i think.

When i got the email, i was sleeping (i sleep in late). so when i first read it, i thought “oh crap there goes my website”. But at the end of the email he said he teamed up with Production Cam who is willing to take all of the websites,  for as low as $5 a month.

So if any of you (probly none) noticed the site not working, you now know why.

EDIT 03/05/09:

I don’t know how long this issue was happening, but apparently after i told my previous hoster that i purchased he decided to SSH over all of my stuff. That included my SQL database and SQL users.

So that caused some issues with visitors not getting a SQL connection. Luckly i had my WordPress database in a different database here then at the old place, because i have unlimited SQL databases here, so i didn’t lose anything i have done since the move.

Oh My Nuts

With all the spare time i have, not being able to play wow and all, iv been spending some time just surfing around Youtube. In my travels i found this video. I know its fake but still funny as hell, and it truly did make me laugh out loud and i hope it does the same for you.
