Its been a while

Man has it been a while. My last post was what..  lil over 2 weeks ago. WoW. Well Here is a list of the updates, short sweet and simple (twitter-like :P )

  1. Got my computer works great, sorry i didnt post an update sayin iv got it.
  2. The main reason i  havent posted here in a while is because since iv got my computer back i can play WoW again and that is taking upalot of my time. Can you say adiction.
  3. Iv also been working on a small side project. It all started with rewriting the phparmory classes. So i needed script to use it and test to make sure it works good. Iv uploaded it to my site you can view it here. Ill try to make a post about it later. (removed link, no longer working on it)

Well that is my short update of whats been going on. I post alot on twitter, so you should follow me and keep updates. Mostly person/random thoughts updates, but my blog is also synched to twitter.

Some updates

Well this post is really just to send out some updates on a few particular topics.

First id like to share that there has been no update on the status of my computer. Friday was between 8 or 10 business days, depending on when you start the count. But i might contact them monday. As far as i know, is there is a back up of orders and they havent had the time to get to my purchase. You know it is tax season, so everyone wants a new computer.

The next is the fact that i finely got my twitter account back. So you can now find me there also. Here is my address “http://twitter.com/justgiz/“. I am also useing a plugin for wordpress to help me sych my blog and my twitter. So every post i make here will be link to on my twitter page. There will also be a widget here showing my recent “tweets”. There are a few other features of this plugin, but i dont think ill use em just yet. Mainly the digets option. IT will be kool. Once a week (or a day if i wanted to) a post will be made here about about the tweets iv made.

The last thing im gonna share is another plugin i have running. It give my blog a mobile theme for people visiting from a mobile device. Its realy fansy lookin theme too. My New Computer

OK,  so if you haven’t read the past few posts, iv been having issues with buying a new computer. I purchased one from newegg, got it, it didn’t work, sent it back for a replacement, and they didn’t have one to send to they refunded me the money (minus the shipping cost). And now its 4 days short of being a month since i made that purchase.

So now I’m doing my business though iBuyPower.com. They do custom built computers. I choose from a list of what i want and they put it together, make sure everything works, and ship it out. So i wont get it in as fast as if i had purchased a pre-built comp from newegg or something.

I made my purchase on Friday, just after they closed for the weekend (stupid business hours). So now i have to wait until Monday before any work has begin on it. Hopefully if I’m lucky they will ship out Thursday or Friday. It only cost me (ok my mom) $656 before a instant $25 savings with the “Boss out of town supper sale” they were having. $25 because my purchase was under $999. The actual purchase is $631. Also there is Free Shipping :D

Even after the purchase iv gone over the list over and over again. Checking on stuff, doing my research that i should have done before i made the purchase (i know).  I first started freaking out about the windows version i got. Not the fact that it was Vista Home Basic but whether it was 64bit or 32bit. And i had chosen 64bit. After my research i found out that 64bit is OK. But i still worry that tings work work correctly. Another thing that got me worried is i forgot to put “Rd NW” in the billing/shipping address. Iv send them an email and hopefully that is sorted out.

But the main thing I’m really worried about is the fact that i didn’t upgrade the PSU to a 650W or even a 600W. Its still the standard 420W that comes with the case. But hopefully while they are building it and testing, or at least looking at the list, will notice that i need a bigger PSU. The thing is that i spend the MAX of what we can. So i don’t know what I’m gonna do if that is an issue. I might take some money out of my savings to put on the card.

New Computer Refunded

OK what did i say with my last update for my computer? I said that it was broke and i had to return it. Right? Well there has been several happenings since then.

After i packed everything back up in their box, i contacted Newegg and setup a return.  It going pretty good at this point, i print out the number and its bar code, and tape it to the box. The email said that i should wait 2/4 hours for the UPS shipping label to be created and emailed to me, and i should print it out and tape it to the box. So i go about my business of waiting for that email, and having nothing else to do.  

Just so the page wont be freaking huge the rest will be after the break.
