This is the first of this kinda of topic, at least for me anyways. But I’m going to share with you 5 reasons why i like/think DestoryTwitter is better then TweetDeck.
First reason and number 1 (at least for me), Desktop realestate. DestoryTwitter takes up less space on the screen because it uses a slightly smaller font, the tweeters avatars are smaller and there is no unneeded padding around the borders. See the picture to the right.
Second and probably more important then the first, Memory usage. I’ve had DestoryTwitter open for at least the past 24 hours, or more, and its memory usage is barely above 50mb of memory usage. So far iv had TweetDeck open about half an hour, open a few windows did a couple things, and its already up to 100mb.
The third reason is the replies, Direct messages, groups and search tabs on DestoryTwitter are always active. You can easily swap from one to another, with just one click. In TweetDeck you’d have to open a new column and scroll over to it. I also assume that every time you open a new tab it uses up a API call.
Number four is the ability to filter the home tab. I assume you could do this with groups on TweetDeck just fine but your home tab would still get swamped with tweets and possibly fill up memory. You can filter it to only include a set of users and keywords or exclude users and keywords. Very useful for filtering out any tweet. For example tweets that have the tag #spymaster?
Last and not least is my number five reason. In DestroyTwitter, when you click on a #tag link, it will pull up a search tab in the app. When i tried this in TweetDeck, it opened my browser and went to twitters search page.
For me looks are more importatnt to me then feartures. So just give it a try you might like it as much as i do.
