Wowhead Goes To Blizzard

The Wowhead team got to visit blizzard HQ. There was a press conference, alot of pictures taken, and a exclusive interview with the man (crab?) himself, Ghostcrawler!

They learned a lot of new info about the upcoming WoW Expansion Cataclysm. And i mean A LOT of info. You can find all their info by going to the link below. Its a great read if you want to know any thing about Cataclysm.

Blizzard to Wowhead Converter – Pets

I dont know if you remember but a while back i wote a php function that will turn blizzards talent builds into wowhead links (link). Well since then blizzard has added hunter pets to the armory, and along with them come their build. So we now need a way to convert that to a wowhead link. Well iv got another function for you.

Blizzard To Wowhead Talent converter

Wowhead has not officially released the code they use to convert convert, but a long while back someone asked in their forums about it. And from there people convert the code they shared into something readable, and worked pretty well.

In my short project to make a Wowarmory mirror type site, i wanted a way to convert blizzards talent build to wowheads. After lots of work, iv finely come out with a nice function that does pretty well.

Iv also been talking with one of the programmers of Armorylite to share this code with him. They just link to blizzard calculator and i thought it be nice for them to be able to link to the best calculator, Wowhead.

Wowhead tooltips extension updated

I just finished an update on my extension “Wowhead tooltips”. The big change is how the item bbcode is used. [item] can be used like the following:

  • [item]###[/item]
  • [item]Item Name[/item]
  • [item=###]item name[/item]

The first two are preparsed into the third one. So if all you know is either the id number or the name, just use [item].

There is also new bbcodes for Spells, Quests and Achievements, but they don’t have a preparser so you cant use them like you can with the [item] tag (the first two from the list above).

p.s. if the item tag does not preparse, it means either that you spelled the name wrong, or the id is wrong

Wowhead also added the ability to add enchants, gems and set bonus’. To add those just add the following to the item code:

  • ‘ench=##’ for enchants
  • ‘gems=##:##’ for gems
  • ‘pcs=##:##’ for other set pieces

The item code would then look like this [item=## ench=## gems=##:##]Item Name[/item]

(Where # is the id number of enchant, gem, or other piece)

Wohead Comic

Ever since Wowhead started their blog, there has been one person who makes and shares a WoW based comic strip. So far there are 4 issues. This is the most recent comic. Issue #4

Its basically bringing up the fact that Alliance women have the bigger racks, and the horde females don’t.

There are comments on their post from women that say even they would like their characters to have bigger boobs.
